The George Lounge, affectionately known as the Snakepit, resides in the Basement of the famous George Hotel, on the corner of Fitzroy and Grey Streets in St Kilda. The legendary little bar has a long and colourful history spanning decades. Earlier this year The George Lounge had a little facelift and has been revamped into a glamorous late-night lounge. The aim was to create a space that oozes charm, highlights the venue’s character and makes you feel good as you walk down the stairs to begin your night. Through the refit the aim was to create a welcoming and comfortable cocktail lounge setting where you can visit, relax and unwind while listening to great tunes in a luxe setting. Whether it’s for after work drinks, a birthday celebration, engagement or corporate cocktail event, it will be a great evening at The George Lounge.

The modern interior, inspired by Miami and New York’s 1970s laid-back luxe vibe, provides a warm and inviting backdrop for any gathering or
celebration. With a capacity of 100 people and open plan design, the George Lounge can accommodate functions of various sizes and can be
tailored to your needs.
